Package vs nuc

Packages of bees are pretty much exactly what they sound like, a box with a bunch of bees and a queen that can be sent to you in the mail to place in your hive. While this is great for accessibility, that’s virtually where the benefits end. In comparison, a “Nuc” - short for Nucleus Hive is a small version of a hive that’s the true core of the colony. A nuc box will contain built-out wax frames with food resources, eggs and larva, worker bees, drones, and a laying queen. While not all sellers offer the same combination or number of frames, nucs are reliable way to fast track your colony with all the resources it needs to expand their population and honey production and a significantly higher chance of success. Pick-up & meeting points

Since our hives are over-wintered, we can offer nucs as soon as March 11th! We’re located in Selma, AL right in the heart of Alabama, for pick-up but we will also be doing multiple drop-off/meeting points throughout AL, and close to TN, GA, and MS.
